The ASEAN-Japan Centre held the “Southeast Asia Destination Update Seminar” in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Philippine Department of Tourism, and China Airlines on April 22, at the ASEAN-Japan Hall in the Centre. The seminar aimed to provide the latest tourism information on Southeast Asia for travel industry professionals.
A total of 27 participants attended the event. The program featured updates on travel information and key tourist destinations in Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam, as well as emerging tourism trends across various segments, including wellness, gastronomy, long-stay travel, and retirement migration.
China Airlines also presented on the use of its flight network for multi-destination travel within Southeast Asia. The session helped deepen participants’ understanding of how to develop travel products that combine multiple countries into a single itinerary.
According to the post-event questionnaire (22 responses), 77.3% of respondents reported being “very satisfied,” while 22.7% reported being “satisfied,” indicating a high level of overall satisfaction. In addition, 11 respondents indicated that they would actively consider developing multi-destination travel products, while 5 respondents viewed it as a possible option. These results suggest that the seminar contributed to encouraging consideration of new product development.
The ASEAN-Japan Centre will continue to work closely with relevant partners to promote initiatives that contribute to the development of the tourism sector.
