Join us as we celebrate the culmination of the ASEAN-Japan Young Environmental Leaders Network program (AJYELN), a dedicated effort of the ASEAN-Japan Centre to bring environmental change by nurturing young leaders in the region. Selected from the 10 ASEAN Member States(AMS) and Japan, these 37 young environmental leaders have undergone rigorous training, emerging with innovative solutions to combat environmental challenges, particularly focusing on plastic pollution and marine plastic waste. Their initiatives have been brought to life in their respective communities through a funding system facilitated by the ASEAN-Japan Centre.
Inspiring Change, Creating Impact
As we approach the project completion of this transformative inaugural cohort, the ASEAN-Japan Centre proudly presents the 1st AJYELN Symposium. This event highlights the remarkable student-led initiatives addressing marine plastic waste reduction and awareness in their own communities and beyond. The symposium is a culmination of the champions’ dedication, resilience, and creativity in the face of environmental challenges.
Symposium Highlights
Project Showcases
Explore the diverse array of projects undertaken by the 37 AJYELN fellows, each contributing to the larger narrative of marine plastic waste reduction. Gain valuable insights as they share their experiences, challenges, and lessons learned in implementing these impactful projects.
Inspiration for the Future
The symposium is not only a reflection on the accomplishments of the current cohort but also a platform to inspire them to continue their efforts as AJYELN Alumni. Additionally, it aims to kindle the flame of environmental responsibility in future candidates, encouraging them to follow in the footsteps of these young change-makers.
