Get to Know Us!
Textile-derived microplastics are an often-overlooked source of pollution. Every time synthetic clothing such as polyester or nylon is washed, microscopic fibres can enter waterways and eventually reach our marine ecosystems. Studies in Singapore have found microplastics in coral reefs, mangroves, seawater, sediments, and marine organisms, highlighting the growing impact of this issue. As a team passionate about sustainability, we created “MicroTex Movement” to raise awareness of textile-derived microplastic pollution through community education, digital innovation, and support for circular fashion initiatives. By making information about clothing materials more accessible, we hope to empower youths and communities to make more conscious fashion choices and contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable future in Singapore and across Southeast Asia.
