Get to Know Us!
Team Moana is a passionate group of three youth leaders from Myanmar committed to environmental conservation, community development, and youth empowerment. Coming from diverse academic backgrounds and life experiences, we share a common vision of creating sustainable solutions to environmental challenges facing our communities.
Through our experiences in climate education, disaster risk reduction, environmental volunteering, and youth leadership initiatives, we have witnessed the growing impact of plastic pollution on ecosystems and local livelihoods. Inspired by this reality, we developed “Waves of Change”, a community-driven initiative aimed at reducing marine plastic pollution in Chaungtha Beach through awareness, youth engagement, and collective action.
Our project focuses on empowering local youth, educating households, mobilizing students, and organizing community clean-up campaigns to create long-lasting behavioral change. We believe that environmental protection begins with awareness and grows through active community participation.
As young leaders, we are dedicated to transforming concern into action and building a future where communities take shared responsibility for protecting marine ecosystems. Through collaboration, education, and grassroots engagement, Team Moana strives to inspire sustainable environmental stewardship and contribute to a plastic-resilient ASEAN region for future generations.
