Koh Sdach Marine Ambassadors

Meet the Team

Team Name: Coastal Pulse

Get to Know Us!

Koh Sdach Island is facing an environmental crisis, with heavy marine plastic pollution threatening Cambodia’s fragile coastal ecosystems, local fisheries, and tourism. We refuse to let the next generation be the last to see a healthy ocean. That is why our team is stepping up to turn these immediate coastal challenges into lasting, community-driven solutions. Rather than relying on one-off beach clean-ups, we are focusing on building a self-sustaining network of youth environmental leaders. We will equip local youth with practical training in Japanese-inspired “Sound Material-Cycle” society framework to foster a circular, zero-waste mindset, Nature-Based Solutions (NbS), and digital storytelling. From there, our ambassadors will map local waste patterns to help the government better allocate resources, run digital campaigns that encourage responsible tourism, and work directly with Koh Sdach authorities to shape policy using real, grassroots data. It is an inclusive, forward-thinking approach aimed at empowering the next generation of local leaders and creating a genuine cultural shift toward sustainability for Koh Sdach.
