Introduction
Co-organized with the ASEAN-Japan Cybersecurity Capacity Building Centre (AJCCBC), the webinar titled “Cybersecurity Readiness of Critical Infrastructure in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” examines how the ASEAN MemberStates and Japan are strengthening the resilience of critical infrastructure amid rapidly evolving cyber threats and the growing use of artificial intelligence (AI). The session places particular emphasis on the energy sector, one of the most vital and interconnected forms of critical infrastructure, where digitalization is reshaping both vulnerabilities and defense strategies.
The webinar will draw on ongoing ASEAN–Japan cooperation to discuss policy alignment, AI-enabled threat intelligence, cybersecurity governance, and regional capacity building. It will highlight emerging risks to critical infrastructure, including cyberattacks on energy systems and supply chains, while also examining how AI-driven tools can enhance detection, response, and resilience. The session will also feature the ASEAN-Japan Young Experts Research Fellow presenting his findings on cybersecurity readiness in the age of AI, drawing on case studies from the ASEAN Member States, with particular attention to Indonesia. By bringing together research insights and practitioner perspectives from academia, government, and industry, the webinar aims to identify practical pathways for strengthening cybersecurity readiness and advancing regional cooperation in the age of AI.
Registration is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
