#ASEANDay #ASEAN58 #2Cities1Celebration
ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations) was established on August 8, 1967, and 2025 marks its 58th anniversary.
This year, celebrations of “ASEAN Day” are being held not only in Jakarta, Indonesia, where the ASEAN Secretariat is located, but also in Osaka, Japan, the host city of Expo 2025, under the initiative of the ASEAN Secretariat. This will be the first time since the establishment of ASEAN that the celebration will be held in two cities.
To mark the occasion, the ASEAN-Japan Centre is launching an Instagram campaign using original origami paper designed specially for this ASEAN Day.
To join the campaign, post a photo of your completed origami flower with the hashtag #ASEANDay. Let’s celebrate the 58th ASEAN Day together wherever you are.
About the Origami Paper
The paper features original designs created by six young Japanese artists, each inspired by their impressions and interpretations of today’s ASEAN. As you fold the flower step by step, you’ll enjoy watching the patterns transform like a kaleidoscope.
