Vietnam is ranked fourth among the world’s biggest contributors to marine plastic waste, with hundreds of thousands of tonnes leaking into the ocean every year. As young Vietnamese with a passion for change, we see firsthand how plastic pollution destroys our beaches, harms marine life, and threatens local livelihoods. That’s why we launched “No Plastic Mũi Né”, a community-driven initiative empowering students and local vendors to tackle plastic pollution head-on. Through beach clean-ups, creative workshops, and eco-friendly alternatives for businesses, we’re turning awareness into action. Our dream is that “No Plastic Mũi Né” becomes a model for other coastal communities in Vietnam and beyond, showing how education, creativity, and community spirit can turn polluted beaches into clean, vibrant spaces for everyone, inspiring long-term sustainable tourism.
