ASEAN integration, which is culminated in the ASEAN Economic Community, provides opportunities for ASEAN micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to be part of integration process. However, MSMEs need productive capacities to become exporters and eventually partners to foreign firms. What we are doing today is part of these efforts.
The ASEAN Japan Centre (AJC) has launched this regional program of promoting ASEAN creative industries in cooperation with the Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP) in order to encourage MSMEs in ASEAN to sharpen practical design skills, product/service design and learn comprehensive business proposals so that they become to create new values, or gain insight on management. Those candidate companies which have passed in FY 2017 initial selection and the second screening in Japan this summer will be awarded at Good Design Award Exhibition in Tokyo, November 2018 and their products will be exhibited in the event.
As a key factor in a company’s long-term success, regardless of its size, which gives micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to join beyond the usual exhibition or trade fair activities, the project aims to expand exports to Japan by placing great importance to design innovation in products and services.
