Size of the Hall: Japan pack is a large size exhibition, which uses 5 exhibition halls, 3 of which are for Packaging materials, Food Processing and 2 halls are used for Machine components zone and robots.

Observation:

Japan International Packaging Machinery Show 2011 is a large exhibition targeting mostly at manufacturers of various products who wish to set up or update the factory. Exhibitors from abroad such as China and South Korea also participated in this event.  At the packaging material zone, machines of various purposes can be found.  Machines for filling various types of food to wrapping, sealing, labeling, inkjet printing were also exhibited.  Several all-in-one machines were also exhibited, i.e. the whole process of cooking rice to sealing and labeling all are done in one machine. Other packing related item such as packing machines, inflatable packaging materials, air bubble wraps and packing straps were also displayed.  Several new technologies were also introduced for the convenience and higher quality of products. At food processing machine zone, machines for mixing ingredients of food such as bread, sushi, Japanese rice ball, noodles and drinks were displayed. Moreover, at the machine component zone; machines components, such as cleaning related products, plastic containers, seal bags, printing machines, labeling machines, and corner cutting machines were shown. Furthermore, several high-tech machines were also displayed at Robot zone. Robots are responsible for fast sorting, moving and processing of products.

Overall, this was a large exhibition to be held every 2 years. The number of visitors increased to 93,743, compared with 89,483 visitors for Japan pack 2009. The majority of displayed items are food processing related machines.  Several companies handed out samples of their products, offered free drinks, gifts as well as lucky draws to visitors in order to attract possible customers.
