Annual Work Program

Work Program (FY2016)

1) Workshop on Sustainable tourism: Accessible Tourism for BCILM

The Centre invites management-level tourism stakeholders from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, to Japan to learn and experience Japanese tourism market and accessible tourism. Also, a follow-up seminar to the Workshop on Accessible Tourism will be convened in one of invited countries.. 

2) CLMV Tourism Promotion 

The Centre will continue “The Second Mekong Tourism Award” to award excellent tour products that feature Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, or Vietnam as destinations.

Also, a seminar to entice tourist traffic from Japan to CLMV countries will be conducted in Cambodia.  

3) Inbound Tourism Promotion

Presentations on “How to welcome Muslim Tourists from ASEAN” will be continuously delivered upon request. 

4) Outbound Tourism Promotion

In 2017, ASEAN will reach its 50th Anniversary since formation. In celebration of this milestone, the ten ASEAN national tourism organizations have jointly developed a tourism program under the campaign theme “Visit ASEAN@50: Golden Celebration” ASEAN-Japan Centre will promote and publicize the campaign in domestic market in Japan.  

5) Exchange Program for Women Entrepreneurs 

The Centre organizes a support program in Manila for women entrepreneurs in ASEAN by providing an opportunity to link women entrepreneurs and corporate enterprises in order to broaden entrepreneurs’ business opportunities and networks.

6) Exchange Program for Tourism Professionals

The Centre organizes an exchange program by inviting tourist guides from ASEAN to Japan, in which ASEAN-Japan tourist guides will share information on each country’s tourism and guiding environment to improve industry standards.

7)Exchange Program for Youths

An exchange event for ASEAN and Japanese children, as well as ASEAN introductory lectures at schools are conducted.

8) Tourism P.R. Activities

The activities involve participation in major tourism or international events, and to co-organize events with schools or organizations.

9) Tourism Information Services   

The Centre provides materials such as maps, DVDs and photos to travel agencies as well as general public. Up-to-date tourism information of the ASEAN region is also available on the Centre’s website. 
Additionally, the Centre organizes tourism promotion and exchange events at the ASEAN-Japan Hall.
