Annual Work Program

Work Program (FY2014)

1) Exchange Program for Youths

The Centre invites tourism-major students from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam to exchange views with Japanese counterparts and to learn about Japanese hospitality.
Also school exchange program between Japanese and ASEAN school based in Tokyo, and ASEAN introductory lectures at schools and universities are conducted. 

2) Technical Workshop on Community-based Tourism for BIMPS

The Centre invites management-level tourism stakeholders from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore to Japan to learn and experience Japanese travel market and community-based tourism.

3) CLMV Travel Mart

Medium and small size travel-related companies will be invited to Japan under this program.  Business meetings with Japanese travel companies/tour operators will be conducted as well as seminars at the ASEAN-Japan Hall. 

4) Inbound Tourism Promotion

Inbound promotion includes “Seminar on Muslim Tourists from ASEAN” which will be conducted in various localities in Japan. Also, tour agencies from ASEAN will be introduced to new tourism areas in Kyushu by site visits. 

5) Outbound Tourism Promotion

Outbound promotion includes seminars with topics suited to market demand, or to introduce new tourist destinations of ASEAN. 

6) Exchange program on Capacity Building and Culture

The Centre organizes symposium by inviting prominent persons such as female or young entrepreneurs from ASEAN to share their experience with Japanese counterparts. 

7) Career Development Support for ASEAN Students in Japan

This project provides seminars for ASEAN students studying in Japan with information about the unique Japanese recruitment system. Also the Centre conducts seminars for Japanese companies who are interested in recruiting ASEAN students to provide information on the current situation of ASEAN students in the job market.

8) P.R. Activities

The activities involve participation to major tourism or international events, other events co-organized with schools or organizations. 

9) Tourism Information Services

The Centre provides materials such as maps, DVDs and photos to travel agencies as well as general public. Up-to-date tourism information of the ASEAN region is also available on the Centre’s website. 
Additionally, the Centre organizes tourism promotion and exchange events at the ASEAN-Japan Hall.
