The Centre organized the “Seminar on how to invite more Muslim tourist from ASEAN to Japan”, to enhance inbound tourism to Japan.  The semianr was attended by about 100 people from tourism and government as well as local government sectors.   

H.E. Mr. Muhammad Lutfi, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia and Mr. Tadashi Shimura, Vice Commissioner, Japan Tourism Agency delivered Opening Remarks, followed by presentation by Mr. Joukei Fuchigami, Assistant Director of Tourism & Exchange Division.  Mr. Shinnosuke Horiuchi, Principal Researcher, Modernphase Research Laboratory also delivered a 60-minute presentation on “Potentiality of the Islam Market – how to welcome Muslim tourists.” 

Many questions were raised during a Q&A session which was conducted at the end of the program, demonstrating the high level of interest of participants.

The participants also enjoyed Halal snack after the seminar.

The Centre will conduct seminar with similar contents in different Japanese localities next year.
