Toursim & Exchange Division invited cruise tourism stakeholders from the government and private sectors of the ASEAN Member Countries to attend the Workshop. 21 participants from the ten countries learned about the latest Japanese tourism market and cruise tourism and visited Yokohama Port to witness “ASUKA II”. On the following day, the members made presentation on their countries’ cruise situation to the Japanese travel trade. The group then left for Osaka and visited Osaka Port and was briefed by Osaka City’s Port & Harbor Bureau staff members. They also enjoyed the visit to Osaka Castle and KAIYUKAN Aquarium, places which are included in many shore excursions in Osaka.
On February 21, 2012, a forum will be organized in Singapore as a follow-up activity to the Workshop. The Workshop participants will share their experience in Japan with audiences and a panel discussion will be conducted as well.
