Report: Malaysian Makan Journey Exhibition: 35 days of cooking, eating and talking in 8 cities
The ASEAN-Japan Center held the “Malaysian Makan Journey Exhibition” at the ASEAN-Japan Hall with Malaysia gohan no kai to introduce the rich food culture of Malaysia. The diversity of food situations that vary greatly depending on the region, culture, and ethnicity were introduced. Ms. Oto Furukawa (Malaysian food culture writer), who visited various households in Malaysia, introduced food-related episodes, traditional sweets, and food situations in each city through exhibitions and talk events. The introduced cities were Ipoh, Penang, Kuala Terengganu, Kuala Lumpur, Malacca, Johor, Kadet, and Kuching. Report: Attending ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2024
Delegation led by Secretary General of the ASEAN-Japan Centre, attended in the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2024 held in Vientiane Capital, Lao PDR, in January 2024, with the theme: “Quality and Responsible Tourism – Sustaining ASEAN Future”. ATF is the biggest annual tourism event in ASEAN. ATF consists of high-level events including the ASEAN Tourism Minister’s Meeting, ASEAN National Tourism Organization’s Meeting, and TRAVEX which showcases updated tourism attractions of the region. Report: Digital Skills for Green Tourism Enterprises: Training of Trainers
The ASEAN-Japan Centre and Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism, in coordination with Asian Development Bank, with support of Department of Tourism of People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province, co-organized a training of trainers on Digital Skills for Green Tourism Enterprises in Hue city, Viet Nam. Report: ASEAN Beach Resort Seminar
The ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC) co-organized the “ASEAN Beach Resort Seminar” with Wonderful Indonesia Tokyo office, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board, and Singapore Airlines. The seminar targeted Japanese tourism industry professionals to provide latest information on beach resorts in ASEAN, to encourage them to develop tours to ASEAN beach resorts. Report: Seminar: Educational Travel to ASEAN 2023
The ASEAN-Japan Centre and the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) co-organized a seminar titled “Educational Travel to ASEAN 2023” on 2nd August 2023. The objective of the seminar was to promote ASEAN as destination for educational trip for schools and travel agents by providing updated information of educational programs and travel situations. The seminar was conducted in hybrid manner, and attended by 30 participants on site, and 70 online. 1.
