The ASEAN-Japan Centre co-organized the “ASEAN Tourism Investment Seminar” with Kansai Economic Federation(Kankeiren), Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the National Tourism Organizations (NTOs) of the ASEAN Member States on 23 October 2019 in Osaka City.
The seminar aimed to promote Japanese investment in the tourism sector.
In the seminar, YB Datuk Mohamaddin bin Ketapi, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia delivered welcoming remarks, followed by the keynote speech on ASEAN Tourism Portfolio, which was newly produced to promote ASEAN Member States’ tourism investment projects by Ms. Leona D. Nepomuceno, Attache & Tourism Director for West Japan, Philippine Department of Tourism.
As Indonesia was not able to join this seminar, nine ASEAN Member States made their country presentations to introduce their signature tourism investment projects. In addition, Osaka-based SUPER HOTEL Co., Ltd. spoke about their business experience in ASEAN.
Individual business meetings were held after the seminar.
