The ASEAN-Japan Centre co-organized “Laos Tourism Promotion Seminar” with the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism (MICT) of Lao P.D.R. in conjunction with Laos Festival 2019, in order to update the Lao tourism information with the travel industry and the general audience.
The seminar started with a remark by the H.E. Prof. Dr. Bosengkham Vongdala, Minister to MICT, followed by a presentation by the Deputy Director General of Tourism Marketing Department on the general information on Lao tourism, tourism statistics, and on Plain of Jars, a prospective UNESCO world heritage site. Then, Lao Airlines presented their plan of future service to Japan and their marketing promotion in both arrival and departure cities. A speaker from H.I.S.LAO CO.,LTD spoke on the tourism products for Japanese market, and its potential for the future, based on the experience of running the tour offices in two cities in Lao P.D.R. The last speaker, a female travel influencer shared her experience of her last visit to Luang Prabang from a perspective of a female traveler, and also introduced her full-utilization of social media as information tools to trigger travel among the younger generations.
