<Report> AJC Participated in Thai Festival for the First Time

The ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC) participated in the Thai Festival for the first time on May 11 (Sat), and May 12 (Sun), 2019 held at Yoyogi Park in Tokyo.

The Festival organized by Royal Thai Embassy reached its 20th anniversary this year. There were a lot of Thai restaurants as well as Thai cultural exhibitions and performances at the venue to entertain the large number of visitors.

The AJC booth was decorated with panels to introduce that Thailand is the Chair of ASEAN for 2019 and showcased the AJC’s activities and the 10 ASEAN Member States. Meanwhile, various information materials related to tourism in ASEAN Member States were displayed so that visitors can take freely.

Also, many visitors from small children to adults enjoyed craft-making using the AJC’s stamps with unique motifs from ASEAN Member States, ASEAN quiz, and “Mekong-style” fortune telling (finding out the personality and good luck charms etc., by the day of the week one was born) at the AJC booth.

On the May 11, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and H.E. Mr. Bansarn Bunnag, Ambassador of Thailand to japan visited the AJC booth.
