Tourism & Exchange Division invited students whose major is tourism from BIMPS (Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore – five countries) to attend the Exchange Program for Tourism Students 2015. A total of 20 participants including five officers from the respective National Tourism Organizations participated in the group discussion and presentation with Japanese students, and lectures by experts on Japanese hospitality and services. The group then moved to Nagano and enjoyed various activities such as visit to the ski jumping stadium/Olympic museum, apple picking, wasabi farm as well as a lecture on local tourism promotion, and exchange program with Matsumoto university students.
The result of evaluation sheets shows that the participants learned Japanese hospitality mind practically from hands-on experiences and they were most impressed with the exchange with Japanese students. The comments by the students prove that the project provided opportunities for them to learn “Exchange” and “Hospitality”.
