Tourism & Exchange Division invited students whose major is tourism from CLMTV (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam – Mekong five countries) to attend the Exchange Program for Tourism Students 2014. A total of 18 participants including five officers from the respective National Tourism Organizations participated in the group discussion and presentation with Japanese students and by experts on Japanese hospitality and services. The group then moved to Gifu/Aichi region and enjoyed various activities such as sweet fish snack making, tea ceremony, Kimono wearing, cormorant fishing tour, visit to Meiji-mura, as well as the exchange program with airport staff and local university students at Chubu International Airport.
The result of evaluation review sheet shows that the participants learned Japanese hospitality mind practically from hands-on experiences and they were most impressed with the exchange with Japanese students. The comments by the students prove that the project provided opportunity for them to learn “Exchange” and “Hospitality”.
