<Report>Indonesia photography information seminar-Super spectacle of Java, Flores Island and Komodo-
                Tourism and Exchange Division co-organized “Indonesia photography information seminar” with Japan Professional Photographers Society (JPS) to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Japan-Indonesia Diplomatic Relations. Ms. Mizuho Kanda, Tourism & Exchange Division, ASEAN-Japan Centre explained about the 60th Anniversary of Japan-Indonesia Diplomatic Relations and introduced the rapidly changing Indonesian society by highlighting widely popular car hailing apps. Photographers of JPS introduced photogenic locations accessible from Bali. Photos and aerial videos were shown during the presentations. <Report>Javanese Gamelan and Dance Concert & Workshop
Tourism and Exchange Division organized “Javanese Gamelan and Dance Concert & Workshop” to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Japan-Indonesia Diplomatic Relations. Javanese gamelan is known for its large and varied instruments. Participants enjoyed the performance of Kartika & Kusma, followed by the workshop, where they received a quick lecture and played those gamelan instruments. In the dance program, dancers performed in Yogyakarta and Surakarta style to show the differences. Then again, participants joined the performers in the workshop dancing to the live gamelan music. <Report>Lao Tourism Promotion Seminar
On May 28, 2018, Tourism & Exchange Division jointly organized Lao Tourism Promotion Seminar with Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism (MICT) of Lao PDR. The seminar explained Lao government’s initiatives to increase the number of international tourists and provided information on tourist destinations in Laos. At the end of the seminar, Lao traditional performance of dance and Khene was introduced and also participants had a time to extend their relationship with others during the networking. <Report>AJC participated in Laos Festival 2018
The Tourism and Exchange Division participated in “Laos Festival 2018” at Yoyogi Park, which has been organized to strengthen the friendship between Laos and Japan since 2007. To commemorate the Visit Laos Year campaign of 2018, delegates and performers flew from Laos led by the Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, H.E Prof. Dr. Bosengkham Vongdara. The ASEAN-Japan Centre, as a supporter of the event, participated the festival and distributed the tourism information of Laos and ASEAN, and the winning tour products of the Mekong Tourism Award 2017. <Report>Participated in Kanku Tabihaku 2018
Tourism & Exchange Division participated in the 14th Kanku Tabihaku 2018 held at Kansai International Airport. Kanku Tabihaku is the largest travel event in the western region of Japan. AJC distributed brochures of ASEAN travel information, introduced the winning products of the Mekong Tourism Award, promoted SNS media of AJC, and provided fun activities in the booth. Also, AJC made a presentation at a seminar to introduce luxury hotels in ASEAN that are suitable for young ladies, families, solo travel and couples. <Report>Participation in Haneda Outbound Travel Fair
Tourism & Exchange Division, ASEAN-Japan Centre participated in “To overseas 2018” ~ From Haneda to the World ~. The event promoted outbound travel from Japan and was held for the first time at International Terminal, Haneda Tokyo Airport organized by TIAT (Tokyo International Airport Terminal). Throughout the event, ASEAN-Japan Centre distributed ASEAN tourism information materials and set stamps of ASEAN in the booth to let visitors make original coasters for entertainment. <Report>Participation in Vietnam Festival 2018 in Sakai
Tourism & Exchange Division of ASEAN-Japan Centre participated in Vietnam Festival 2018 in Sakai. Sakai City in Osaka Prefecture has a long historical relationship with ASEAN* and the Consulate General of Vietnam was established in Sakai in 2009. <Report>Mekong Tourism Award 2017 presented to excellent tours to CLMV【Comments on awarded products added】
The ASEAN-Japan Centre has announced eight excellent tour products in 6 categories to destinations in CLMV (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam) as winners of the Mekong Tourism Award 2017. The Award highlighted the finale of Visit ASEAN@50 commemoration with a specially established “ASEAN 50th Anniversary Award”.
