Report: The 4th ASEAN-Japan Women Entrepreneurs’ Linkage Program (AJWELP)

The ASEAN-Japan Centre organized the 4th ASEAN-Japan Women Entrepreneurs’ Linkage Program (AJWELP) in Bandar Seri Begawan from, Brunei Darussalam 10-14 February 2020.   AJWELP aims to create an opportunity for startup women entrepreneurs in ASEAN whose business is less than 5 years old to create networks and link with support companies, mentors, and other peer women entrepreneurs.  The participants are expected to bring back the knowledge and experiences gained from the programme and reflect them in their business, and eventually become business leaders and role models for junior women entrepreneurs.

AJWELP consisted of various programmes including a business presentation which is the highlight of the event, workshops on the entrepreneurial leadership and presentation skills by trainer of the World Startup Festival (WSF), session with mentors, and company visits.

AJWELP was participated by 10 finalists who are country-representing participants of ASEAN Member States and 18 voluntarily nominated independent participants.   Four successful women entrepreneurs joined AJWELP as mentors to share their experience and provide advice, while 24 supporting companies offered their products /services to support the participating new women entrepreneurs.

The programme was co-hosted by Darussalam Enterprise (DARe), Brunei Darussalam.
