The Month of Photography Tokyo ~Asian Photographers Exhibition ~ is back to the town again. This year, with the title of “The Hope & The Dream in Filipino – Section I~IV-“, photos of 12 talented Filipino photographers will be exhibited in 4 galleries in Tokyo.
The Section IV is scheduled to be exhibited in the ASEAN-Hall, with carefully selected photos from 3 Filipino photographers. Through their artistic photos, you will see how people live through positively in difficult situations and their religious passions.

【 Profile of the Photographers 】
Neal Oshima is an independent commercial, editorial and fine art photographer based in Manila, Philippines. Early training includes work as laboratory and field photographer at the BP Bishop Museum in Hawaii and fine art photography in San Fransisco, CA. He has won several international awards for his avertising and fine art work. Memories of Philippine Kitchens recently won a major citation from the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP’s Jane Grigson award) and was named one of the top ten food books by the Times of London. He is currently working on several books and continues to experiment with altenative printing processes.
Vincent Rufo was borned in Olongapo, Philippines. He started photography under the influence of his mother, who loves to take pictures. His talent was soon recognized and was invited to participated in a photography workshop organized by the Filipino Photographers Association. He worked as a cameraman for SPOOL WORKS, a design and photography company, and started his career in Cambodia. Later he founded the ARTWOX STUDIOS, and works as a wedding photographer. He also produces wedding videos as well as music & commercial videos.
Cherly Baldicantos is a staff photographer of Manila Bulletin -a natonal paper in the Philippines. She was born and raised in Mindanao but is now based in Cebu City. She is currently the youngest and only practicing female photojournalist there. She has been chosen as one of the 30 young photographers from all over Asia who were honed at the Anglor Photo Workshop in Cambodia. Among others, her photo was selected as one of the 13 best at the Binus International Photo Competition 2011 in Indonesia. Her photo was exhibited at the Ian Parry 2011 Exhibition at the Getty Images Gallery in London in 2011. The same exhibition will also be presented in Spain this year.
