Special Events of the Month of Photography Tokyo 2012

information

A series of special events will be launched in conjunction to the Month of Photography Tokyo 2012: Asian Photographers Exhibition 2012 ~Philippines~. We hope you will learn more about the Philippines through these events !!

★☆Seminar on the Photo Journalism☆★

In the recent years, the Philippines has achieved remarkable economic development. It is also an important trade partner to Japan and many other countries. However, behind the high rise buildings lies the shadow of development. We would like to shed lights to some of the social problems faced by the Philippines, such as disparities of the society, poverty and social unrest that came along with development. This time, we have the honour to have Ms. Cheryl Baldicantos, the youngest photo journalist in the Philippines to give a seminar on the social conditions of the Philippines and what the journalism could and should do in such situation.
