Philippines Jazz Concert at the ASEAN-Japan Hall (June 2012)

As a preceding event of the “Tokyo-Manila Jazz & Arts Festival 2014”, which is an event to promote cultural exchanges between Japan and the Philippines and an excellent opportunity to introduce promising Philippine artists to Japan, the ASEAN-Japan Centre will organize a Jazz Concert & Mini Culture &Tourism Seminar on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the ASEAN-Japan Hall, ASEAN-Japan Centre.

Although there are a number of talented jazz musicians in the Philippines, it is not well-known in Japan. The preceding event aims to showcase the fine Philippine jazz and to make the audience feel more familiar to the Philippine musicians by organizing a small-sized homey concert. The Jazz songs prepared for the concert ranges from standard number to songs in Tagalog.

Prior to the concert, there will be a Mini Culture & Tourism Seminar by the Philippine Department of Tourism so as to introduce charms and attractions of the country, encourage understanding of the local culture and make the concert more enjoyable. (Please note that the mini-seminar will be held in Japanese language only.)

Also, at the event venue, visitors can enjoy viewing sophisticated jewelries of “EDAYA”, a jewelry brand the works of which are designed by gaining inspiration from mountain tribes of the Northern Luzon and created with the local traditional artisan skills.

Let us enjoy a pleasant autumn afternoon together!
