Work Program
1) ASEAN Fair
Serving as a handle for the implementation of the Centre's "Two-Way Exchange Program," this Fair will be organized at a department store in a major city in Japan to showcase the unique ASEAN culture and traditions through art performances and handicraft-making demonstrations. Also,Team Leaders from ASEAN will visit major tourism spots in the host city of the Fair as well, and they will have a meeting to exchange their views with local government and travel trade sector.
2) Technical Workshop on Sustainable Development of Tourism Destination
As a form of capacity-building, representatives from BIMP-EAGA (Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area) will be invited to Japan to learn case studies of renowned Japanese ecotourism products. Subsequently, Follow-up Seminars will be conducted where the workshop participants in their respective countries will share their experiences with their local tourism industry stakeholders.
3) Tourism Promotion Program
This program supports enhancing ASEAN tourism through collaboration with tourism educational institutes, the travel industry, and the government in Japan. Further, the Centre participates in tourism promotion events in Japan.
4) Quality Service Training Workshop for Travel Trade Sector in ASEAN
This will be organized to provide practical training for front-liners of travel trade sector in ASEAN who actually cater to Japanese visitors.
5) ASEAN P.R. Activities
These will focus on information dissemination through the Internet, which are aimed at further improving and revitalizing the Division's website. In addition, tourism-oriented events will be organized at ASEAN-Japan Hall.
