ASEAN Anniversary Events

Tourism & Exchange Division conducted a series of special events to commemorate the foundation of ASEAN, which was established on August 8, 1967 as follows:
<Aug. 8 Longstay Seminar - 100 participants>
The seminar was conducted with cooperation of the Longstay Foundation and National Tourism Offices of Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, and Thailand. The event drew a full house, which proved the high level of interest in Longstay abroad among the general public.
<Aug. 9 Textiles of Indonesia - 29 participants>
A textile designer Ms. Machiko Watanabe gave presentation on textiles and cultures of various parts of Indonesia.
<Aug. 10 Vietnam's New Tourism Attractions - 33 participants>
Mr. Kodaka, an expert on Vietnam's pesent history, introduced not only tourism but also Vietnam's clothing, food and housing.
<Aug. 11 Thai Pop Culture - 34 participants>
Ms. Mako Shirata, a writer of Thai entertainment business, spoke about Thai movies and pop culture by showing some videos.
