(The movie was filmed in English and Khmer.)
2006/ the United States/ 74 minutes
Director: Socheata Poeuv
[Story Synopsis]
Born in a refugee camp in Thailand during the Cambodian New Year, Socheata was brought up in the United States without knowing her family’s past. One day, her parents revealed the truth regarding the family to her. In order to solve the mysteries of her family, she traveled to Cambodia and visited her families who were separated by the Khmer Rouge regime. What other secrets do her parents have in store for her? Through her personal story, the documentary visualizes one of the most abhorrent periods in history, but at the same time is a tribute to a loving family.
